Ian Cress Boggs
Our son, Ian Cress, was born this morning at 9:40. Although Nina had a feeling he would be here sooner than later, we were not expecting him today.
See photos from Ian's first day.
Nina had been on bed-rest for the previous 10 days–her blood pressure being considerably elevated. Our doctor diagnosed her with gestational hyper-tension. So, every two days she was at the doctor's office or at the hospital getting her blood-pressure and the baby's heart-rate monitored. On Saturday everything looked good. We were to come back in a couple of days, but the numbers were good. So when amniotic sack burst and we went to the hospital, we were shocked to find out that her bp was elevated and she had protein in her urine-signs that preclampsia was setting in. Nina and the baby were about to get sick. Good thing her membranes ruptured. Good timing Ian. Let's get that baby out.
The doc decided that the best course of action was to immediately deliver the baby via c-section. Everything went smoothly and less than two hours after we arrived at the hospital we had a beautiful baby boy.
Oh yeah, everyone wants to know a baby's stats. Ian weighed in at 6 pounds 8 ounces and is 19 inches long. A far cry from 6'3" 265, but he has some time...

Nina & Kristan:
Good work...I guess some Scotch-Irish folk
from the fields of watercress(Cress)and the cranberry bogs (Boggs) were just destined to be together and to produce beautiful offspring. Ian certainly makes us proud.
Love,
Pa-Pa Richard
Dear Kristan and Nina, What a gorgeous guy!! Thomas and I are so happy for you. There's no way to explain to someone who has never experienced the birth of a child just how enormous the feelings of love and protection are, and the awe of the whole process of God's plan in allowing us this privilege of participating in the miracle of birth.
May God bless all three of you! Can't wait to see him.
Love,
Sandy
