sleep little baby sleep
I don't want to jinx anything, but I think we are on night three of Ian's newfound ability to make it through the night without waking.

so damn cute!
Spitting his outmeal, all over his face, my face, the chair , the floor– Greta loves it.
Coughing, not sick, nothing in his throat– just knows it will get my attention.
Screaming, yelling– beyond cooing, I guess.
Pulling my hair, biting my fingers, kicking, hitting, laughing, screaming...
Smiling.
So damn cute!

Too Much/Not Enough
I guess I should have known. Everyone I talked to, everything I read–childcare is extremely time consuming. Maybe it is just me, maybe I am completely unable to take anything to heart until I experience it firsthand. But it's true–everything they said is completely true. Too much to do, not enough time to do it.
But it is worth it!

For you to lose your mind
Cuz, I've seen something
That's gonna change our time

MINI go bye-bye
Ian has entered into this world and; alas, I must make room for him in my motoring world. Thus I must sell the MINI. If you know any interested parties, please direct them to the Autotrader website. It is great little car and fits four adults just fine. Unfortunately, the car seat takes up more room than most adults.
Damn, I really liked that car.

Full-Time Daddy
Today, Nina went back to work. She had been home on leave for seven weeks and I had gotten used to having her around. In fact. we have been together on a daily basis for much more of our married life than appart. Most couples don't spend that much time together. One or both go to work and thus, don't spend every day together. Well, not so for us.
So, being without Nina today was a little unfamiliar and a little sad. Not that I have issue with being alone for a bit, I'm OK with some of that. It's just that it has been quite nice for our little family to have each other to lean on. We are all there to keep each other together—we get along with each other so well. But now she goes off to work and I stay at home with the baby. Oh yeah, I'm now the full-time daddy.
Oh my God, I'm a full-time daddy.
Let me say it again...
"I'm a full-time daddy."
Whoa there. OK. I can do this. Yup. I am doing this. It is going to be great. Ian and I are getting along. We know what to do. We are going to have so much fun... Oops, he's screaming now, I guess there 's something I should do.
Did I mention I miss Nina?

almost 6 weeks
It has been almost 6 weeks since our little Ian entered our world. His skinny little body is filling out just as his dark head of hair is thinning (hopefully a temporary thing) and changing to lighter hues. Sleep is still something unknown. Soon, I pray, soon.
Nina goes back to work next week and I'll be on my own. I am excited about being the stay-at-home dad. Mister Mom won't hold a candle to the antics that we three (Greta included) are going to find ourselves in-just kidding Nina!
Check back to see how things go after next week begins.

tired, oh so very tired
How can one little sub-seven pounder keep us so busy and so tired? Yes, I know, everyone told me it would be this way, but it was easy to think (hope) that it wouldn't be quite so true. He is worth it. Cute little expressions. Cute little grunts. Yes, everything is little right now; but, I am told that he won't stay so little so long–and I am now inclined to believe. Maybe I can work in a nap...

Ian Cress Boggs
Our son, Ian Cress, was born this morning at 9:40. Although Nina had a feeling he would be here sooner than later, we were not expecting him today.
See photos from Ian's first day.
